We had an amazing time on our private fishing tour with Makis and Ilias! We were lucky enough to catch three fish (including a big bluefin tuna) thanks to Makis' knowledge of the water and the best fishing spots! Two of the fish were put on the BBQ for lunch and the tuna was made into a delicious ceviche! It was served alongside some other delicious food prepared by Makis' wife (especially the tomato fritters!) Ilias is also an amazing host - he's a very warm and welcoming person and keeps you entertained throughout the day! He tells you all about the islands history and the volcano as you sail around the island. He also makes sure you have lots of beer and wine to drink throughout the day! Water is also available but we avoided that :) My boyfriend and I both agree that this trip was the highlight of our holiday. Thanks again Makis and Ilias! We will definitely see you next time!

My family of 7 just visited Santorini, it was our last day on our cruise. Makis went above and beyond, we loved it so much. The authentic food, the hospitality, the gorgeous water. Being October it was a little chilly in the water but still just an ideal day. I can't recommend this tour enough. Still craving the blue water and tomato fritters. Thank you Makis!!

Captain Makis & his first mate Ilias ensured that we had an adventure of a life time!!! Captain Makis's local maritime knowledge and boating skills are the best. He knows the waters around Santorini like the back of his hand. Ilias explained a lot of the history and local knowledge that we would have otherwise totally missed. Elephant rocks was our favorite part of the tour. . We can't wait to return!!!

This trip is a must if you are in santorini . The guys are very respectful and knowledgeable . we were very lucky with the weather and we had an amazing trip. I would definitely recommend this to anyone coming to the area. they are flexible with the tour locations and will tailor it to your preference. the greek cooking was amazing and we cooked the fish we caught on the day. It was definitely better than the one we had in the restaurant. and watched the sunset. it was very relaxed with lots of entertainment and facts about the areas yet we were given our private time to relax. 11/10

Captain Makis & his first mate Ilias gave us an EXCELLENT time discovering Santorini’s caldera. With my boyfriend, we were looking for cool spots to snorkel around Oia and by going with them we had this and more. Add a tour with The Pirate to your bucket list and you can expect great hospitality, historical facts, as well as interesting stories about sunken ships & local people. And good food 😋 locally sourced, some made by Makis’s wife & fresh caught fish!

What a great experience! Captain Makis and first mate Eli did such a wonderful job showing our group a different side of Santorini. Only one of our party of five was interested in the fishing part of things so it was important to have a well-rounded trip and they absolutely provided that. Eli was very knowledgeable and shared some interesting facts about the topography and waters in & around the caldera. It was a great tour! The waters were super choppy on the day we went out but no one in our group experienced any sea sickness. We did some snorkeling around two sunken ships in a sheltered cove. And to top things off, we caught two fish, a grouper and a Bonito, and they prepared them for a delicious dinner on the water along with local wine. Of course we had amazing views of the setting sunset as we pulled back into port. Can’t recommend enough!

Absolutely wonderful experience, one of your favorite excursions we did during our trip. Makis and Elias went above and beyond during our private tour. Plus Makis’ wife’s cooking is out of this world. The tomato fritters, AMAZING. A must do for anyone looking to explore the island by boat, fish, learn about the sights, and eat authentic Greek food while being entertained the entire time. Definitely recommend!!

We had a wonderful 1/2 day fishing and swimming trip with captain Makis and Ilias! They took us all around Santorini's islands showing us the unique landscapes, all the while keeping us laughing with their amazing stories! It was the perfect way to spend a lovely morning in Santorini capped off with an amazing lunch! We had a wonderful time and can't wait to go back and see them again!

That was a great experience for me and my girlfriend, many thanks to captain Makis and Ilias! Captain knows how to get to unique and private places near Santorini islands, Ilias told a lot of interesting stuff about history and specifics of the places. Except a great fishing experience, we have got a chance to taste a very delicious food: a fresh tuna prepared by Makis and Ilias on the board and wonderful local Greek dishes prepared beforehand by Makis' wife from local products. We had an opportunity to swim in a small lagoon near one of the islands, the water was really warm and we were completely alone in the place. We have got a lot of impresions and would recommend this activity to everyone, who visits the island :)

We finished our trip in Santorini with this tour and what a way it was to round our holiday off! Amazing! Ilias and Makis were amazing hosts and made us feel welcome and like close friends. Makis is an expert sailor, fisherman, and cook (special mention to his wife too as her tomato fritters are amazing!), and Ilias was fantastic guide detailing the history of the sights as we sailed past and making sure we were comfortable. They take you to areas that no other tours know about or go to creating a truly unique and special experience. Swimming in these areas is a very special treat. To be able to swim in the clear waters of the bay and sea (they stop twice at different points for this) is an experience I will never forget. Diving with the shoals of fish is like something out of a nature documentary. There's also a shipwreck which makes for a cool dive too. On my trip I caught a tuna and to be able to eat something I have caught myself is a pretty cool experience. Makis and Ilias are amazing people and I really can't thank them enough for this experience. Would recommend to anyone and everyone!

Wonderful 3 hour tour. I was afraid that the tour was not suitable for my baby (1year old) but thanks to Makis and Ilias we lived one of the best moment of our vacation. Traditional greek lunch (very good cooked by makis’s wife) Really thank you guys

This was our favorite day in Santorini. Makis and Elias took such wonderful care of us. We always had a beer in hand and we learned all about Santorini while we were trolling for fish. We caught a fish and then went to a cove to go snorkeling. While we were snorkeling, Makis and Elias cooked up the fish and we had the most delicious sides made my Makis wife. After snorkeling we turned up the music and headed to watch the sunset. Thank you for such an amazing day on the water.

The best captain of the island. He is accompanied by a polite sailor who also informs you about historical facts of the island, the volcano and the ancient civilization that lived here thousands of years BC. It was my second tour with him and every time the experience is unique. The view of Santorini's sunset at the end of the trip is the nicest you can see! Highly recommended!

Makis & Ilias we’re absolutely incredible! They gave us so much history, showed us all around, answered many questions, and of course we caught awesome fish! They grilled the fish on board and Makis wife prepared other food for the meal, it was phenomenal. I really can’t say enough good things about these two, would recommend this trip to anyone. Worth every penny! You’ll learn so much!!

Thank you so much captain Makis and Elias for this beautiful and joyful day which we will never forget. The itinerary was breathtaking: we saw amazing rock formations, clear sea floors and impressive views. Elias explained the origins of these volcanic formations and the history of Santorini with great detail, humour and wit. Captain Makis is so experienced: we felt very safe in his boat. We unfortunately didn’t catch fish but frankly didn’t miss it since the meal we were served was so delicious: the ingredients were so fresh, some of the dishes were literally memorable and cooked by captain Makis wife. We were blessed by the kindness and the service. This trip was the highlight of our 2 weeks holiday in Santorini: we highly recommend this experience and hope to do it again.

Magique ! J’y étais seule avec mes 4 enfants, ce qui peut paraître compliqué pour une partie de pêche mais Ilia’s et Makis ont juste été parfaits, ce qui a rendu cette expérience incroyable. Nous avons pêché 4 gros poissons (les plus gros que nous n’ayions jamais pêché jusqu’à maintenant). Les enfants (et moi) etions aux anges ! Le repas avec le poisson pêché (ceviche et barbecue) était royal. L’épouse de makis nous avaient concocté de délicieux accompagnements ! Bref, une expérience à vivre et à revivre ! DE magnifiques souvenirs pour toute la famille !

We spent an amazing afternoon with Makis and Elias. They were friendly, informative and made sure we had a great day. From the unique rock formations to the beautiful swimming stops the day could not have been any better. We were lucky to catch a good number of fish and Makis prepared them for our dinner. The fish was paired with delicious side dishes made by Makis' wife. Everything was perfect! I would highly recommend you spend the day on the water with Makis and Elias if you have the chance. It was our favorite day from our 2-week vacation in Greece!

Nous avons passé un super moment de détente, de bonne humeur. Makis et son associé sont au top, visites de différentes petites îles avec les explications nécessaires, moment de pêche, de baignade à côté d’une petite plage privée de sable noire. Ensuite direction le cratère du volcan avec baignade dans un endroit très abrité et magnifique pendant que nos 2 hôtes préparaient le déjeuner : poissons grillés que nous avons pêchés, salade préparée sur place et mezze grecs maison. Tout était parfait, n’hésitez pas.

Ci siamo imbarcati ad ammoudi bay (oia) alla scoperta delle isole e del mare della caldera. Abbiamo pescato a traina costeggiando l'isola di Thirasia per poi spostarsi verso il mare aperto, catturando anche 2 barracuda (la cena). La barca è molto spaziosa con un'ampio pozzetto, bagno e camera; essendo contenuta però di misura (10 mt) permette di navigare a contatto con le scogliere a strapiombo sul mare. EFFETTO WOW. Capitano Makis con 25 anni di esperienza marittima e il suo marinaio Ilias sempre attento e pronto a soddisfare ogni necessità. Rigorosamente greci. Simpatici, onesti e con una passione immensa per quello che fanno. Persone che servono al mondo. Sicuramente un'accoppiata vincente. Noi abbiamo scelto pacchetto 6 ore, dalle 15 alle 21. Comprensivo di bevande alcoliche e non, di stuzzichini e cena a bordo in un luogo spettacolare. Dove? Scopritelo andando a fare questa esperienza. Perché di questo si tratta, non di un tour guidato e ne vale assolutamente la pena. Chiaramente il tramonto dal mare è compreso... Se il massimo sono 5 stelle questa esperienza ne conta 6. During the fishingtour we experienced the most beautiful day of our trip to Santorini! The fishermen are such friendly people: we were welcomed so warmly and the whole trip there was only cheerfulness and cordiality. At the same time, a lot of interesting facts are given because the fishermen are locals. 100% recommended!

Makis and Elias are wonderful and their private fishing tour is absolutely amazing! They're very knowledgeable, passionate and friendly. We laughed so much and enjoyed every minute on the boat. They made everything they could to make us happy. Indeed we didn't wanna leave and will remember this day for a long time. If you're in Santorini you have to book a trip with them... you won't regret it!

A fantastic afternoon with two great guys that made a real effort to ensure we all had a great time. Very informative about the geological history of Santorini, getting us up very close to dramatic rock formations and finding private bays for us to swim in the most pristine waters. Oh, and we caught a bonito tuna, which was magically transformed (one side into ceviche, the other barbecued) whilst we swam. The dinner was delicious, with wonderful local additions made by the skippers wife. And then that sunset from the boat. A real highlight of our holiday, thoroughly enjoyed by three teenage daughters and Mum & Dad. Well done Makis and Elias, and thank you.

On July 4th I spent the day going for the fishing tour and had an amazing time. They told us about great history of the islands and lots of great info about Santorini. This was one of the best trips i have booked in Europe in the past 4 years living here. We started off with fishing and seeing cliffs and beautiful clear blue waters. Next drove to a private beach after catching a few fish. They made fresh ceviche for us from one of the bonitos i had caught, as we went snorkeling around a beautiful private beach. As we eat we headed over to the volcanic island near the hot springs were the water changed color from blue to a teal green color. We continued to fish and had an amazing time in the 5 hours we were on the water. I would highly recommend this trip as you are not with the general public. We saw many other boats packed with tourists that looked busy on the boat and not as fun. I will definitely book this trip again when i go back to Santorini. Thank you for such a great time!

We did the 5 hour tour, The day we went was a very windy We were unable to catch big fish due to the wind, We were able to catch several small fish for lunch. The crew were amazing, they were entertaining the whole time and had a wonderful experience. This is a great fishing tour or just adults. I would recommend this tour for anyone that wants to have a private fishing tour. Only regret was not doing the 10 hour tour.

We have had the pleasure of doing two fishing tours (our first in 2019 and our second yesterday). The experience is second to none. The greatest care was taken to ensure we had a memorable experience and enjoyed ourselves. We had the opportunity to visit a private beach and swim and made a second stop for dinner where we swam in the clearest waters imaginable. We enjoyed our freshly caught bluefin tuna prepared two ways, with sides of locally baked bread, Greek salad, tomato fritters, meatballs, and tzatziki (all made by Captain Maki's wife - and the veggies were grown in their garden!). We finished the trip watching the Oia sunset from the best seat in the house - on the water. If you make a trip to Santorini, you must make time for this tour!

Wow what an incredible time we had on our 5 hour private fishing trip. The boat was waiting for us at 9am with two smiling friendly faces Captain Makis and Ilias they instantly made us feel at home. The boat is big and had plenty of space for us to relax - it even had a bathroom onboard. My husbands highlight was the fishing he caught two barracuda which the Captain barbecued for lunch, my daughters highlight was snorkelling on a private beach and my highlight has to be the incredible lunch, it was the best Greek food I have had - amazing salad, meatballs, tomato fritters, tzatiki and the fish! Honestly if these guys weren’t doing boat trips they could easily set up a floating restaurant with the best food in town. All in all the best day of our holiday, stress free to book and just wonderful! If visiting Santorini don’t pack yourself into a boat full of strangers book a private trip with these guys you won’t regret it. Thank you so much Makis and Ilias you really made our trip special and we will be back!

What an amazing experience! Me and my husband had the best excursion with Makis and Ilias. We felt right at home on their boat. They were beyond accommodating and made us feel incredibly comfortable. Ilias was extremely knowledgeable and informative about Santorini. It made our trip very interesting and fun. Makis was an amazing captain, he was able to navigate the waters so that we had a very special experience. They also provided the best meal of our entire trip in Greece. They made us ceviche out of the tuna we caught and also grilled it, along with homemade sides from Makis’ wife and a salad from their garden. We ate everything and it was perfect. We would book them again in a heartbeat. Highly recommended and worth every penny! Thank you Makis and Ilias for the best fishing excursion we’ve ever had. You guys are awesome!

We spent an afternoon with the crew and it was an absolutely perfect time. Mikas was born and raised on the islands and has been fishing his whole life. This tour is private and they are flexible on if you would rather fish, swim, or snorkel more. We trolled around and were told history and stories while being served wine & beer! We got to see different sides of all the islands inside the caldera. We caught only one fish but they prepared it into cerviche and served it to us with wine and home made side dishes (made by Mikas' wife). It was really delicious!! All in all, it was fun, very welcoming, and felt like we really got a local experience. Highly recommended.

Went into this fishing trip not expecting much but was blown away. Captain Makis and Ilias were incredible during the whole five hour tour. Despite heavy winds and large waves captain Makis was able to find great places for us to fish and a beautiful swimming area. Whole experience was amazing and turned out to be the highlight of our trip. Great stories and amazing history. Would recommend to anyone looking for a fun time.

We did the 5-hour afternoon fishing tour with Captain Makis and Ilias. What an awesome experience. Despite heavy winds that day, Captian Makis had no problem finding really nice spots protected from the wind for us to fish and swim in. Ilias was very friendly and did a great job at explaining Santorini's history and geology. Makis was an incredible storyteller and told us about his fishing adventures and experiences. On top of the great company and beautiful views, we were able to catch two fish, which Ilias and Captain Makis cooked for us, as well as providing some homemade meals that were really delicious. Hands down, this was the best experience we had in Santorini. Even if we had not caught fish it would have been a great time - testament to how great both Captain Makis and Ilias are.

Today we had a fishing trip with Captain Marki and Ilias. It was an excellent experience and although it was windy we had a great time. Great explanations and we caught great fishes. They are a very professional team and we had a great day. Food was excellent and the fish prepared along with great authentic local ingredients. The boat and equipment is also very clean. It was sure one of the highlights of our visit in Santorini so far.

The fishing trip with Captain Marki and Ilias was our hightlight in Santorini. With Captain's Marki's expertise, and Llias's non-stop tireless service, we were served and treated as honored guests. The fish we caught, the beautiful sceneries, and the background/history stories learned, along with the most fresh fish Ilias cooked for us, the vegi and home cooked food from Marki's home garden, his home made wine, all together has made our fishing experience an unforgettable one. What a fantastic trip we had in Santorini!

Captain Makis & ilia’s made this an amazing experience, we did the sunset tour and it was such an incredible afternoon/ evening. The captain knew all the best spots to take us to and Ilias was very knowledgable in telling us about all the history. They caught us a baracuda & tuna which was later cooked on the bbq where captain Makis prepared the most amazing authentic Greek spread for us to enjoy on the boat while the sun was starting to set. We got taken to a private beach where we were able to swim and do some snorkelling and later swam in the hot springs near the volcano. They took us to the perfect spot to watch the most fabulous sunset and they waited while we watched the sun set into the sea. They also were on hand to take as many photos as we would like so we have some of the best photos to remember the experience. I would like to add we didn’t do the trip for the fishing more for the boat trip but reeling the fish in and then eating it freshly prepared added a great element to the trip we didn’t know we wanted. Overall fantastic experience and would recommend to anyone coming to Santorini

Hands down the highlight of our Greece trip. Great crew, great sights, great food and a relaxing vibe. Just perfect.

This was an amazing fishing tour around santorini Island...I recommend this to everyone who loves fishing tour and not only...!!!

For all fishing affecionados and for people that never had a chance to enjoy the pleasures of true fishing in Santorini you have to contact Captain Makis for an unforgettable five hours of real deal fishing combined with fantastic lunch prepared by his wife Flora plus whatever you gonna catch will be expertly prepared into carpaccio or ceviche and the rest will be grilled on a mean Canadian made BBQ on the aft deck right in front of you or while you’re diving from the bow. Out of meals we had during our four days stay on the island ( including Michelin dinners) all of us who went fishing came to a conclusion that the lunch on the boat was best prepared and in the best possible setting. Captain’s right hand Ilias( if I spell his name correctly) gave us a very insightful lecture about history of the islands from the historical, geological and mythological points of view and all was done in perfect English I may add and kept serving us drinks for good fishing luck!) Most importantly we were taken to a secret fishing spots where we caught four barracudas( one was small and we let it go) , a large mackerel ( ceviche). And before we decided to go swimming on the black sand beach we caught two large groupers. At the end of our trip the captain drove his boat to an island where he and his father built what May qualify in Guinness book of records as the smallest and the prettiest church which also had a tiny beach where we decided to swim before were taken back to the port. Le capitaine Makis et sont second Elias on était parfait. Nous avons visités les îles alentours et nous sommes aller pêché, en suite nous avons manger les poissons et les 2 capitaines nous on préparer un repas de rois avec une salade et des spécialités typique d’ici faite par la femme du capitaine qui était délicieuses. Nous vous le conseillons à 100% ! Elias a était extrêmement gentil et attentionné en vers nous c’est notre plus belle rencontre ici. Merci pour tout !

It was an amazing fishing experience, the captain is very kind and he offers BBQ, fresh food and if you catch it, fresh tuna, barracuda or may be octopus !

We had a fantastic experience with Makis, Ilias and their wonderful vessel. Excellent communication, wonderful locations, a dive in the volcanic waters, an unforgettable visit to Thirassia, they went out of their way to show us a good time. Highly recommended, on no account to be missed!!!

Captain Makis and Paolo are some of the best people that We have ever met. We did this tour in 2020 and fell in love with them. We appreciated all of the knowledge and history that we are able to learn of the whole island. There were even some awesome little Greek mythology stories told. So, when we decided to come back in 2021 we knew this was on our list to do again. It was so much fun yet again. They are so friendly and accommodating. This time we caught 4 fish, well 5 technically because we had to throw the little fish back, and every minute was just filled with fun energy and good vibes. What amazing people these two are!

Wow, what a spectacular day we had with Makis and Paolo sailing on the boat around Santorini islands, fishing and swimming! We enjoyed every single moment of our trip. The weather was perfect - sunny and the sea was calm, so we managed to come very close to the islands rocks to see its beauty, and that was awesome! We also caught some fish, and cooked it on board which was a unique experience for us. Thanks to both Makis and Paolo for showing us the beauty of these islands and surroundings, making sure we catch a fish by floating through the right fishing spots and for sharing with us the history of the islands and peculiarities of the region. Thanks also to Makis’ wife who made very delicious home food! In total we spent 5 hours on the boat, but the time flew very fast, and this is absolutely one of our unforgettable experience for the whole life, which we’d like to do again once on Santorini next time. We strongly recommend this tour with these 2 guys, they made our day. Believe me, you’ll love it and be impressed!

Booked this trip for myself and my 2 teenagers last minute and it was the highlight of our trip to Santorini. Captain Makis and his assistant kept us thoroughly entertained and both know so much about the history of Santorini etc. As well as fishing and enjoying our catch grilled by Makis on board, accompanied by salads and divine meatballs courtesy of his wife, we also toured all around the caldera and then watched a spectacular sunset. It was an exceptional afternoon and I highly recommend this activity!

Makis et le guide qui l’accompagne sont excellents personnes et super professionnels! Si vous êtes fan de la pêche vous allez adoré!Makis fait tout pour que vous péchez qq chose mais, si vous pratiquez cette activité, vous savez que de fois vous avez une bonne pêche et des autres non, mais avec lui C’est sûr. Nourriture et produits faite maison et délicieux. Nous avons passé une matinée magnifique. Makis a grillé le poisson que mon mari a pêché pendant que nous profitons de nous baigner dans les eaux thermales. Après la nage,tout le repas délicieux était vraiment aprecié. J’imagine que il y a un itinéraire déjà un peu près planifié mais Makis prends toujours en considération les souhaites de chaque un, en tout cas il a fait comme ça avec nous. Nous vous recommandons vivement faire cette tour avec lui, vous ne le regretterez.

I don’t normally write reviews but the experience was so amazing that I decided to leave one. After we went first time with Makis and Ilias, we couldn't stop and booked another 3 trips within one week). So in total we went 4 times on a private fishing tour. They took us to many different fishing spots (every time a new one, so it was never boring), where we caught plenty of fish. We were also provided with amazing homemade food and drinks in addition. Great team - very professional, friendly and welcoming. If you are in Santorini, its a "must try" activity. 10 points out of 10! Thank you Captain Makis and Ilias, we enjoyed every minute and hope to return soon!!! Kind regards from Switzerland

We had the most amazing day with Captain Maki and his team! Such incredible hospitality, the drinks were flowing and the bbq lunch was so delicious! The music was playing and it was just such happy vibes. We stopped off to see some of the islands, caves and hot springs and it was gorgeous. Not to forget the beautiful sunset views! I thoroughly recommend this tour to everyone who visits Santorini.

These guys are incredible! We had the BEST time! If you only do 1 thing in Santorini, DO THIS. The experience was really once in a lifetime and we were treated like royalty! We did the 4 hour tour and it was the perfect amount of time! We went fishing, he taught us all about the island and volcanos, we went swimming in the hot springs which was crazy because it’s on the (active) volcano!!!! Then we caught some fish and they grilled them for us and served us lunch, along with salads and homemade (very authentic) sides which were all incredible! They checked on us the whole time to make sure we had enough beer, wine, beverages, you don’t even need to ask, when it’s empty they’ll bring you a new one right away. They do everything to make you comfortable and so that you really enjoy the experience! They offered us a ‘sea sick’ gum that’s supposed to help but we didn’t have that problem. They also had eye drops on board they let me use (I got sand in my eye the night before) and it really helped! They took amazing care of us and I can’t wait to visit again! They’re truly friends now!

This tour was the highlight of our trip. Makis and Ilias are incredible tour guides who have deep knowledge of Santorini and surrounding islands, and they take you to the most beautiful secret places in the area. They were really warm and welcoming, and took good care with Covid protocols. Makis is born and raised in Santorini and has deep knowledge of the sea, as he has been a sea captain for over 20 years. We felt very safe at all times. They were great hosts and served delicious food from Makis' wife. If you want an authentic experience you cannot do any better, strongly recommend it.

Wow! Absolutely amazing tour! After researching tours for fishing (as I wanted to fish) with some opportunities to swim and snorkel (for my husband and daughter) I booked the 6 hr private tour with Captain Makis starting at 3pm. What an absolutely amazing day/evening. Captain Makis and his ship mate were fabulous for knowledge and service. Captain Makis wife made the food which he grilled for us along with a fresh catch. This was the best meal we ate in Greece. We fished and went to areas to swim and snorkel. We did the evening trip so we were in perfect placement for watching the sun set. Absolutely stunning. Even my husband and daughter said it was their favourite part of our trip! Would highly recommend!

Woweeee! We had the most amazing day. We had a private fishing trip with Captain Makis. Three of us including my 6 year old son. The guys were incredible with him. We went snorkelling in areas you wouldn’t be able to do unless you’re with an expert local fisherman , caught a grouper fish and my son reeled it in. Makis then later cooked it on the bbq and we had the most delicious dinner on the boat. Makis wife made some amazing food to accompany the fish too. My son was so keen on fishing that he did some fishing off the back of the boat and caught three fish. They couldn’t do enough for us. We did the sunset trip 3pm-8pm. We had a ball. Can’t recommend it enough. A huge must do if you’re in santorini. We sat on the front of the boat and watched the sunset to finish it off. It was just unreal. Money well spent.

You NEED to do this fishing tour. The people are amazing, the food was delicious, and the service was impeccable. We got lucky and caught a fish and the captain grilled it up within minutes of catching it while we were enjoying ourselves snorkeling!! Can’t get any more fresh and authentic than that!!

This is seriously the best thing we did in Santorini. Not only do we get to fish and enjoy a boat, but the two guys who lead the tour are extremely knowledgeable about the island. They tell you all the history you could want to know. We caught a nice fish and they grilled it up for us fresh!! I don’t think anything could trump this experience. We begged to extend the tour because of how amazing this was.

Really great experience. The skipper knows the waters of Santorini like the back of his hand and navigated the reefs around the many islands with ease. His assistant was well versed in the history of the islands and the archeology of the area. The boat was well equipped and every fishing method tried, but the fish did not cooperate. We had some success bottom fishing along edge of the caldera. This is fishing, so I know my next visit to Santorini will include another trip on this vessel and fantastic crew, and more than likely a boat load of fish! Thank you again Captain Makis. Captain Makis and his assistant Ilias were the perfect hosts on a tour that was a highlight of our visit to Santorini. Touring the Caldera, swimming in the hot springs, snorkelling and of course the fishing made it the perfect way to spend the day. Eating the grilled fish that we'd caught was great, accompanied by the delicious meatballs, tomato fritters and tzatziki from Captain Makis' wife. And plenty of soft and alcoholic drinks to wash it down meant the hospitality was excellent. Recommended.

The private fishing tour with Captain Makis and Ilias is probably the highlight of our trip to santorini. Firstly they deliver on their promise. Being in a private boat tour, you do have the flexibility to choose what you like or not. However their own suggested itinerary is picture perfect. It starts with a tour in the area, fishing, swimming around remote islands which would never be possible with a group tour company, swimming in hot springs, view the volcanoes and wrap it all up with an amazing fresh cooked dinner of grilled fish and salad. Next to this, have to mention the meatballs, tomato fritters and tatziki made by Captain Maki’s wife which would probably give a lot of restaurants in santorini a run for its money! Last but not the least is Makis and Ilias’s own hospitality. It was mesmerizing hearing their stories while watching the horizon and soaking in the sun. A must do if you want to experience the real Santorini which lies beyond the zillions of tourists and the commercial elements catering to them.

The guys on the boat gave everyone of us VIP, treatment, amazing sites, great food, played our own music.

These guys are amazing they work so hard to make sure everyone is happy. You just need to relax and enjoy the amazing trip. The food was one of the best I had in Santorini. The homemade food by Captain’s Makis wife is delicious. The best Greek salad with the best olive oil is super authentic and everyone loved. We had 4 children with us and they loved it. If you come to Santorini this trip is the one to choose.

We booked the afternoon fishing tour on July 6th, and it was a great choice because the sunset was breathtaking! Captain Makis and crew will treat you like royalty and show you a one a kind experience out in the sea and around the Caldera area. They were very knowledgeable about the region and eager to please us. The fishing, swimming and snorkeling were all really fun, and the homemade meal prepared by the crew and Captain Makis' wife was delicious and welcomed at the end of the evening. You will not regret booking this tour!

I highly recommend Captain Makis and his colleague Elias to give you a tour of the incredible islands of Santorini! They were incredibly informative on the history of Santorini and took us to a beautiful private beach for snorkeling, tour between the islands, and then to a hot spring and back to the bay by our hotel. They served us a delicious fresh lunch cooked by Captain Makis Wife and fish caught by the Captain himself. It was the best part of our trip to Santorini. Don't hesitate to book!

My husband and I went to Santorini for our honeymoon in October of 2019. This boating excursion ended up being the highlight of our trip. Captain Makis and Nick went above and beyond to make sure we experienced everything a boat tour could offer- we swam in the hot springs, ate Makis' wife's wonderful homemade tomatokeftedes, caught a barracuda (which they grilled for us while we swam), toured around the entire island, and watched a beautiful sunset. Makis and Nick are a dynamic duo and had us laughing the entire tour. We will definitely do this again if we come back to Santorini. Highly recommend!!!

My husband and I visited in early November during the last day of the season and were lucky to have perfect weather. Nikolas and Makis were incredible hosts and it soon felt like we'd been invited over by friends for dinner and an outing. Nick was a natural and knowledgeable tour guide on the history of Santorini and peppered in plenty of jokes and tidbits about his and Makis' families. We discussed everything from volcanic island formation to current Greek politics and the trip was just as intellectually stimulating as it was from a visual and culinary perspective! Highlights of the tour: - Private; just the two of us - Motored out from Ammoudi Bay to Thirasia, at many times going close enough to the cliffs to get some astounding views. Nick is well aware of the best photo spots and will enthusiastically (and very professionally!) play photographer - Learned how to jig fish (we were complete beginners) from Makis, an experienced fisherman. (Ask him to show you a picture of his biggest solo catch...you won't believe it). - Swam through the ocean into the volcanic hot springs while Makis and Nikolas grilled the fish we caught and set out a beautiful table. Must try the amazing tomato balls made by Makis' wife! Since it was the end of the season, we got the hot springs all to ourselves - Headed back to Oia to see an amazing sunset by boat. No words for this - the photos speak volumes. So grateful for the memorable day with Captain Makis and Nicolas! Completely worth

Mike and Nick were extremely hospitable and made our vacation the best! They took great care of us and showed us all the islands complete with history and insights that left us in awe. This is a MUST DO! The fish caught was perfectly grilled and the other food was local and great

Captain Makis and First Mate Nicolas were amazing! These 2 guys know hospitality. We were able to catch a large Mahi-mahi, which was cooked immediately for lunch. You cannot get more fresh than that. The views were spectacular and you'll get a story of the history of santorini from First Mate Nicolas himself. Will definitely do it again when we come back.

My husband booked this tour for us for our first full day in Santorini. We both grew up loving to fish and it sounded like a really fun trip! We were absolutely blown away by how much amazing it was!!! These guys really know their stuff about not only fishing but also the history of Santorini. They were an absolute delight to spend the day with and taught us so much about the island — and helped us catch a fish!!! We spent a good portion of the day fishing and also got to visit a hot spring. This trip was our favorite part of our honeymoon. Great guys, great wine, great day!!! When our Airbnb host said that there was no deep sea fishing tours available during our time in Santorini we started to do some digging of our own and stumbled upon these two gentlemen. They were quick to respond and accommodate our group of seven people for a sunset fishing tour. They did not disappoint and they worked out WAY better then any commercial fishing tour would have been. Mikas is a fabulous captain that you can tell truly appreciate the life of a Greece fisherman. His wife even cooked us treats for our trip. Nikolas was more of a tour guide and spoke great English. He gave us a great history tour of Santorini, all with some humor. We ended up catching three Mahi Mahis which they cooked right on board. Book this tour! You will have a great time :)

We enjoyed the sun and sea on the 3-hour journey with Nik and captain Makis - also the Mayor of Thirassia! - complete with lessons in trawling, volcanic activity and Greek culture, as well as a taste of homemade tzatziki with a Santorini delicacy made with cherry tomatoes from Makis’s garden. We even managed to fit in swimming in the hot springs and snorkelling, and caught a grouper... twice. Many thanks for sharing your passions (and tips for food and wine) with us.

I can not recommend these folks enough. We had 7 people on the tour and they treated us like family! The captain even had his wife cook for us!! We got lucky and caught 3 fish which they later barbecued on the boat. We did a catamaran the following day and it didn’t even COMPARE to the type of experience we had with this. On a vacation that included a stop Santorini for a few days, my wife, (who is very thorough and had done her homework) booked us aboard this private fish / touring boat. After a short cab ride from town, we were greeted with warm smiles at the small port of Ammoudi, by Captain Machis, (the BEST fisherman in Greece!) and his able, and "great photographer" First Mate, Nicholas. Once aboard this spotless vessel, we were asked what activities we were interested in. Swimming in hot springs, snorkeling, fishing touring, eating drinking...you name it! We opted for some fishing and after a cruise across the Caldera, during which Nicholas, with his vast knowledge of the area, spoke to us of the islands history, the history of the volcano, the local attractions, myths, anecdotes, farms, wineries and other points of interest. We decided to do some fishing, and the "BEST fisherman in Greece" Captain Machis promptly put us into some fish. After catching enough for a great lunch, we headed over to the hot springs area, found a private quiet spot, and Machis and Nicholas whipped us up one of the best meals we had in Santorini! Had a great day on the water! Weather was nice, we caught a couple of fish, had some delicious snacks that Mike's wife prepared. Nicholas was very informative about the area & even stopped for the girls to take a swim in the volcanic springs near island. We were travelling with 2 seasoned travelers, a senior with mobility problems, a traveler that likes the beach & a newbie overseas. Everybody was happy, so that's a big win in my books! Do this! Our family of four was in Santorini for a single day from our Celebrity cruise. Contacted Captain Makis well in advance to set up our day - duration, preferred destinations, fishing plans, etc. Fortunately, we opted for the 6-hr cruise that included grilled lunch on the boat. When we tendered into Fira’s port, Makis and first mate Nikolas were waiting for us (they usually sail out of Ammoudi Bay, but agreed to do it). We were off to the hot springs, arriving before the crowds - just us and another boat’s couple had the place to ourselves. We cruised around the caldera, stopping several times to swim in grottos, near beaches and a small port. Most importantly (according to my son) we fished along the way. Our trolling efforts for the big fish were unsuccessful, but we did find a location to drop lines and reeled in about 15 grouper, sometimes 2 or 3 at a time. This became part of our lunch, cleaned and grilled on the back of the boat. They also served incredible meatballs, salad, bread, beer, wine and sodas. We originally wanted to be dropped off in Fira, but once we saw Oia from the shore, we knew it was not to be missed. After a quick stop to cliff jump, Makis arranged for transportation from Ammoudi bay, up the hill to Oia, where we grabbed lunch, walked around and enjoyed the incredible views, before heading back to the Fira port cable car and our tender boat. It’s simply amazing.

We booked Captain Mikas and his deckhand Nick for an afternoon sunset tour. We had been told by a local that the water was the best way to see Santorini since we were only in port for one day. We were not disappointed. We snorkeled, toured spots of interest, swam in the hot springs at the volcano, got close up views of the cliffs, volcano, the beautiful water and Enjoyed the sunset on our way in. We went in September and the winds were harsh and the seas were 2-3 feet. Captain Mikas is an excellent captain and he made sure we were safe and cruised at a comfortable speed. The water was chilly but we got in and swam and it was tolerable. Nick has a great deal of information about the island. We Also had lunch prepared by Captain Mikas’ wife and that was delicious. they had Beer, wine, and water onboard for us to enjoy. I would highly recommend this sunset tour.

I don’t know where to start with this organization so I’ll just lay it all out there. We are from Vancouver, BC where world renown fishing is to be had. These guys went above and beyond on our private excursion. They arrived early to our pick up location at old Fira Port. We felt very safe on our ride around Santorini, life jackets were available if we felt we needed them. Nicholas is a great deck hand with lots of knowledge of the area, understood English very well, and secretly he is a photographer too haha! The lunch and wine provided were top notch too, all authentic, home made down to the tzatziki. I could go on forever about how good the food was but you’ll just have to try it for yourself. Makis and Nicholas made this one of our most memorable days on our vacation across the Mediterranean Sea. Thank you so much!

My wife booked this for my birthday. We both had a great time fishing. Unfortunately we lost a couple of good size fish (Amberjack and Tuna) but caught plenty of smaller fish which were cooked on the BBQ. We also snorkelled and swam in the hot spring. Both guys were very friendly and knowledgeable about fishing and the history of the island which was also interesting. Would thoroughly recommend this trip.

My husband and I had a wonderful time with Makis and Nicolas. We caught plenty of fish, had a beautiful fresh made lunch, and enjoyed the thermal springs and swimming/snorkeling. The perspective of Santorini from the water and explanations were wonderful. What a beautiful day - our favorite experience so far during our trip to Greece! We’d love to go again and would highly recommend.

My husband and I thoroughly enjoyed this 5 hour experience. It is my fondest memory of our time in Greece! They picked us up on time, took many pictures, and Makis grilled the mahi mahi my husband caught. With the sides his wife made, everything was so delicious! We went swimming in 2 different areas, the first area had super clear water. The second area was at the Santorini volcanic hot springs. We had the place to ourselves for about half the time before groups starting coming in. Nick took such awesome pictures of us. Very happy with the overall experience and well worth the money.

I won't be able to fully explain how amazing this trip is. Makis is a top tier boat captain and takes you to all the places you want to go. He is also a great chef and his wife cooks some amazing food as well. Makis took us to the hot springs, snorkeling, to watch the sunset, and many other activities (too many to type). Makis was being assisted by Nickoli who made our trip so much more enjoyable. He was able to offer knowledge about the island while taking photos and keeping a drink in our hands at all times. This experience hands down will be the highlight of your time in Santorini!

10/10 recommend. Captain Mikas and Nicholas were awesome. They made the trip. They were flexible with our pick up and drop off locations and helped us get to our ferry on time. We got to fish, experience the hot springs, and had our own photographer take pictures of us(thanks Nicholas!). Thanks to our lovely friends Makis and Nikos- it was the second time we went on a fishing trip with Makis and we really enjoyed it- ευχαριστώ ! Had a great time on board, we catched two Maki Makis and they've been delicious. You also have to try the Tomatokeftedes- they're selfmade from homegrown tomatoes and the best we had in whole Santorini (and we actually tried a lot of them)! If you have not already booked this, go book right now! This was most definitely the highlight of our time in Santorini. Makis and Nikos were incredible from the first second until we said goodbye. The boat is perfect for a romantic couples cruise. We pulled out of ammoudi bay and went to the hot springs, where the small boat was able to bring us to a part where my husband and I were alone in the hot springs! After a relaxing swim, we headed to Thirassia, while Nikos then shared tons of valuable information about the islands and took tons of pictures of us (he is a great photographer and just keeps your camera and captures your whole trip!). We went to a great swimming cove and had a bbq, which was honestly the best meal we ate the whole time we were in Santorini. Makis’ wife made homemade tomato fritters and meatballs that we had along with fresh grilled chicken and fresh made Greek salad! We then sailed in to the sunset, where Makis insisted we have the best view for the whole sunset. Our hands were always full of drinks and everything we could have wanted was at our fingertips. This trip was incredible and should not be missed! Such a gem!!!

I don’t normally write reviews but Makis and Nicolas were so amazing with our family that we had to leave a review. We rate this tour 10 out of 10 and a MUST do if you are in Santorini. Great Captain friendly, welcoming, genuinely nice guy. This was by far the best sea experience we’ve ever had. The food was super and my kids loved it. My 12 year old swam in the sea and my 4 year old enjoyed playing on board. We had plenty of food and drinks on board. Our half a day sunset boat trip with Captain Makis and Nikos was the highlight of our holiday! Not only do you get the whole boat to yourself but it was much better value than some of the other boats AND they tailor the trip to what you want. We had a couple of vegans in the party and they even provided for that in the meal which was really tasty. Swimming in the hot springs was a particularly interesting experience but my favourite part of the trip was sailing into the sunset. I will never forget our trip. Thank you Captain Makkis & Nikos for such an amazing experience.

Communicating before the trip was great, I knew exactly where we needed to be. We arrived via cruise ship. Makis & Nic picked us up right in port where we set sail for the day. Nic shared the history of Santorini with us along with all of the amazing geography/topography. We trolled and caught a barracuda (which we ate for dinner) and had another big hit that lived to see another day. We then got to snorkel and swim at our own private beach, fished some more and swam in the hot springs. We learned about the culture and people of the island. They then took us to a private cove where the wine flowed and they prepared us an amazing meal. After dinner we slowly motored back to port while watching the amazing sunset. We love to fish, however you don’t have to fish on this trip. They also don’t use live bait so it’s very clean. Most importantly, we left feeling like we had met new friends and family. Makis and Nic were so kind and warm and very funny. So easy to be with. On this day there were 4 other cruise ships in town, earlier in the day we had taken the trip into town which was ridiculously busy. Once we boarded the boat with Makis and Nic we felt we were literally the only people in Santorini!!! Certainly an experience of a lifetime and a MUST do if in Santorini!

I would highly recommend this company. The Captain and First Mate were so great with my family and two boys (12 and 9). We caught a ton of fish and they were so nice to set us up with prime reservations at a local restaurant. Go with these guys, you will not be disappointed!
